Announcements and warm-up will begin at 9:30 a.m., and the mini-dash will begin immediately following. The 1.8-mile race/family fun walk will immediately follow the conclusion of the mini-dash.

Parking is available in the Zoo parking lot or on the surrounding side streets. Please note our new park location at the corner of Colvin Blvd. and Amherst Street, near the Zoo's service gate.
 
If you park in the Zoo lot, you will be given a token that is needed to exit the lot. If you misplace it, an additional token can be purchased at the Zoo gift shop for $5.00.

Kids Run will be held in a new area this year, in the Colvin green space which is located on the corner of Colvin Blvd. and Amherst St. near the Zoo's service gate.
 
Before the  race starts, you can stop by the Health and Wellness tent, visit the food trucks for a snack, enjoy the Nickel City Reptiles Show, play soccer, dance to music and more! Visit the Wegmans tent for face painting and more fun activities!

Pre-purchase your Zoo vouchers for $2 each (children 23 months and under are free) with your online registration! They will be mailed to you with your race numbers. Be sure to bring them with you to the event, or you will need to purchase new ones if you forget.
If you choose not to pre-purchase, vouchers will be available on-site (cash only) for everyone that participates in the run.

Kids ages 6-18 are eligible for timing chips. In order to get a chip, you must pre-register online or by mail by Wednesday, May 18 and check the box that says "Yes! I want a timing chip." The chips will be distributed the morning of the race and are disposable, so they don't need to be collected after the race.

You must pre-register by May 18 in order to get a race number, and they will be mailed out following online or mail-in registration. They should arrive a few days prior to the event. Safety pins will be available at the event so you can pin your number to the front of your shirt.

Attendance for this year's race will be capped at 5,000 participants to ensure we have enough medals. Fruit and water for everyone in attendance. We strongly encourage you to register by May 18 in order to participate.

Any child ages 18 and under who is pre-registered by May 18 in the following categories:
  • Ages 18 and under, first place overall boy and girl
  • Age 15-18, top three boys and girls
  • Ages 12-14, top three boys and girls
  • Ages 9-11, top three boys and girls
  • Ages 6-8, top three boys and girls
  • Award medals will be given to all race participants (while supplies last).

Yes. Strollers are welcome in the 1.8-mile race and parents and grandparents are encouraged to participate with children. All children should be accompanied by an adult on the 1.8-mile track.

Kids Run is held rain or shine so please dress appropriately.

Yes, we hire a photographer to come to the event and take photos for us so we can show everyone how much fun the Kids Run is. Visit our Facebook page after the event to see if your picture is online!
